Frozen Yoghurt ist ähnlich zu herkömmlichen Speiseeis. Im Gegensatz zu diesem besteht Frozen Yoghurt jedoch hauptsächlich aus Joghurt und Milch, wodurch Fett- und Zuckergehalt reduziert sind. Doch nicht nur die Inhaltsstoffe unterscheiden das in Frozen Yoghurt Shops verkaufte Produkt von gewöhnlichen Eisdielen: In Frozen Yoghurt Shops wird der Frozen Yoghurt ähnlich wie Softeis verkauft und der Kunde kann zudem aus einer großen Zahl verschiedener Toppings wählen: Verschiedene Saucen (von Karamell- über Schoko- oder gar Zimtsauce), Schokolade (Schokolinsen, Streusel, helle und dunkle Schokolade), frische oder getrocknete Früchte oder sonstige Süßgikeiten wie z.B. Marshmallows oder Gummibären, ja sogar Bobas habe ich schon gesichtet.

Mein Lieblingsshop für Frozen Yoghurt ist momentan der Frogis Frozen Yoghurt am Münchener Stachus. Hier kann man den Frozen Yoghurt selbst aus einer Maschine zapfen und anschließend mit so vielen Toppings wie eben in den Becher passen, selbst verzieren. Frozen Yoghurt gepaart mit Selbstbedienung finde ich eine klasse Idee.

Um zwei Portionen Frozen Yoghurt selbst zu machen, benötigt man:

• 300 g Fruchtjoghurt (je nach Geschmack: Es kann auch Schokopudding oder Vanillepudding verwendet werden)
• 80 g Quark (Magermilchstufe)
• 50 g Sahne
• 60 g Zucker
• Toppings (mögliche Beispiele siehe oben. Klasse finde ich hier einzeln eingepackte Schokosachen oder kleine Tütchen mit Gummibären (oder anderem). Diese kann man einmal kaufen und dann für mehrere Male Frozen Yoghurt verwenden.)

Man füllt einfach alle Zutaten (bis auf die Toppings) in einen Behälter, rührt alles kräftig um und packt die Mischung dann in eine Eismaschine. Der Frozen Yoghurt braucht dann etwa 20-30 Minuten, bis er fertig ist. Während der Frozen Yoghurt in der Eismaschine ist, kann man schon beginnen die Toppings in kleine Stücke zu schneiden.

And because all this facts I described above, I just want to wish you one thing for the new year. I wish you contentment. I think it is one of the most important things you should have or develope to cope with your life. You can not always influence what happens in your life and sometimes very bad things can happen, but if you are able to nevertheless be content with what you have in your life, you are able to get out of every black hole you might find yourself and are able to see somekind of bright light again.

For approx. 60 pieces you need:

250 g flour
150 g butter
125 g sugar
100 g nougat (you can also take nougat chocolate)
3 egg yolk (Eigelb)
a bit baking powder (approx. 1/2 teaspoon)

As topping:
3 packages vanilla sugar
3 tablespoon sugar

First cut the nougat in small (I suggest as small as possible, because then the mixing of the dough takes less time). Mix the nougat, flour, butter, sugar, egg yolk and baking powder together until you get a dough. Put the dough for about 30-60 minutes into the fridge. Make a approx. 2 cm small roll and cut this into approx. 2 cm small pieces. Form each of the pieces in croissant form. Bake the pieces for about 10-15 minutes in the oven (175 degrees). They are ready when they turned light brown. Let them cool down for about 5 minutes. In the meantime mix vanilla sugar with sugar and roll the Kipferl (they must be still a bit warm) in the sugar mix.

A cookbook inspired me to do a really fast, easy and very delicious meal: potatoe pancake with mozzarella and tomatoes. At first I was not sure if my cooking method was right, but it turned out it was: I just bought frozen potatoe pancakes and but some mozzarella and tomatoes on top. Now I put it for about 20 minutes (just look when the cheese is melted and bubbling a bit) at 200 degrees into the oven. On the package of the potatoe pancakes was the preparation in the oven not mentioned, but it turned out as a really great meal! In my opinion especially the tomatoes are really important for a good taste. Of course you could also make the potatoe pancakes out of fresh potatoes, but then it will of course take longer to prepare.

In Germany you can buy softcakes: Small, round cakes with jelly filling and chocolate on top. I found and tried a recipe for them and show you my edited version of it:

For approx. 16 cupcakes you need:

5 eggs
130 g flour
1 jam jar (orange)
110 g sugar
1/2 table spoon vanilla extract (or you can take 1 package vanilla sugar and only 100 g normal sugar)
juice of one orange
100 g chocolate (50 percent cacao)

First mix the eggs with the sugar until all sugar is in a swivet and you get a foamy mass. Now add flour, the orangw juice and the vanilla extract and mix everything until you have a dough.
Put the dough equally onto a baking tray. It must cook 15 minutes at 180 degree in a pre-heated oven.

Let the dough cool down for a few minutes. Take a coffee cup and blank the dough in round pieces. Apply the organge jelly on each of the dough pieces. Let the chocolate melt in a water bath and apply the melted chocolatr on each of the dough pieces with the chocolate.

Indisches Fast Food (Barerstr. 46, 80333 München): Although this indian restaurant has the word “fast food” in it, it has nothing to do with typical fast food: All in all the food there is very good (we tried out quite a lot of indian restaurants and the only better place we found so far was the Swagat restaurant that was recommend to us by an Indian work mate of mine) and quite cheap (around 5 to 6 Euro). We usually take the food there to go, because the place is very small. Across the street is a nice park where you could eat your food in the summer time.

Tokami take away (Theresienstr. 54, 80333 München): Besides the real japanese Tokami restaurant is the Tokami take away. There you can get Sushi (never tried it, since I do not like Sushi in general) and 3 to 4 different dishes each day (usually one of them is fried noodles. You can get all dishes with or without meat and you can choose between a normal or small portion. Also you can eat it directly in the small shop or take it with you. The prices are between 4 and 6€ for the normal portion.

Curry 73 Stromberg (Schmankerlgassn, Stachus UG, entry Karstadt/Bahnhof, Bahnhofsplatz 7, 80335 München): In the newly renovated Stachus UG you can find lots of small snack bars. In the following I will recommend some of them to you. I start with the Curry 73. This is the second shop of the Curry 73 and they sell good (!) tasting currywurst. (And no, a good currywurst is NOT a bratwurst with curry powder, even if not all parts of Germany seem to know this. And yes, the currywurst you usually get in Bavarian is a bratwurst with curry powder…).

Dean & David (various places all over Germany, e.g. in the Stachus UG): I kind of like this chain. Okay, the things they sell are a bit expensive. But they use fresh ingredients and all things i tried where tasty. They offer salad (for 8€ deposit you can get a big plastic box that is really great! I now use this box for other to go snack bars), sandwiches, curry and juices.

Panem (various placed all over Munich, e.g. in the Stachus UG): This shop has very tasty sandwiches and other stuff like coffee, juice, yoghurt or salad. Compared to the Dean & David it is really hart to tell which sandwiches taste better. I think I can just say that both taste good, but very different. So try for yourself.

Coffee shops:

Starbucks (various places): I like Starbucks coffee, although the coffee is quiet expensive. Also the cake and other sweets are mostly tasty. My favorite is the Rasperry White Cheesecake. Since there are various Starbucks in Munich, I do not have one particular Starbucks I use to go to.

Coffee Fellows (various places): A coffee shop similar to Starbucks. The coffee is cheaper, but only a few cents, but in my opinion, it does not taste that good as the Starbucks coffee. The only exception I tried so far, is the Iced Caramel Machiato. I think it tastes great! Also there bagel taste good. Okay, not as good as the ones in our beloved Bagel Brothers restaurant. But unfortunately this restaurant closed here in Munich. There are various coffee shops of Coffee Fellows all over the city.

Vits (Rumfordstr. 49, 80469 München): This shop is really fantastic: The coffee is really, really great (if not the best) and they also are a coffee roasters and sell the coffee beans or powder. If you want to know something about coffee, coffee beans or coffee brewing methods, they might be helpful.

Batty Barista (Barerstr. 42, 80799 München) is not a coffee chain. The coffee there is tasty and the price is okay: 3,10€ for a large cappuccino. I never tried something to eat there.

Wir machen Cupcakes (Utzschneiderstr. 12, 80469 München): A very small shop near Viktualienmarkt, that offers tasty and nice looking cupcakes. Also I usually do not like cupcakes that much (too much creme on it), I like the one you can buy there. Especially since they look so lovely! You can also let them design cupcakes specially for you. The cupcakes there cost around 2 to 4€.

Boogie Donuts (Blumenstr. 1, 80331): The Boogie Donuts is also located near the Viktualienmarkt. There donuts taste wonderful. When they have chocolate on top it is not couverture, but real chocolate. The filling does not taste too chemical (sometimes marmelade is used) and they taste fresh and fluffy.

Donuts & Candies (Georgenstr. 41, 80799 München) is another shop that offers self made donuts. They taste also good, but compared to the Boogie Donuts, I prefer the ones from Boogie Donuts, even if they are a bit more expensive and slighty smaller. But never the less, the donuts at Donuts & Candies are good.

Balla Beni (Theresienstr. 46, 80333 München): Very tasty ice cream, unusual sorts (like mint-milk or chocolate-ginger) but also quiet expensive (1,3€ per cone in this year) and usually long line of people. It is open from around February till around October.
